Brahmaputra flows above danger level, 19000 families affected

Affected districts:

The Brahmaputra is flowing 67 cm above the danger mark of 93.03m at Matmora in Lakhimpur. The Mora Pagladiya has breached its right embankment in three spots and its left at one.

Affected: 19,000 families; 99,000 individuals; 127 villages; two revenue circles: Dhakuakhana and Subansiri.

Two dykes washed away in Majuli, Jorhat district. A 100m stretch of a road at Simaluguri in Upper Majuli was washed away Saturday morning.

Ten villages submerged in Nagaon district.
