NHPC role irking public in Assam

The 2000MW Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project is facing opposition in Assam for the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation's alleged non-transparent approach. NHPC officials are not willing to talk to journalists.

Move is afoot to form an Aikya Mancha comprising anti-project activists in Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts and Majuli subdivision of Jorhat district.
